volume change using scroll near tray not working on secondary screen

822keicam 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 5

I can't change volume by scrolling near notification area, but only on secondary display. When option changed to scrolling on entire taskbar it works. Also when volume change bar is opened everything works fine.

Answer

Should be fixed in v5.10.1.

Bug: Thumbnail Drag to Reorder causes endless explorer crash loop when displaying thumbnails

dsarmageddon 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 4

Windows version: 20H2

7T version: 5.10

Repo steps:
1. Enable "Drag to Reorder" under Thumbnails
2. Windows option: "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" enabled
3. Hover over a program such that a thumbnail displays (thumbnail will never actually display)

Result: explorer will crash, causing taskbars to show, hide, crash and repeat until 7t Taskbar Tweaker is killed.
Interesting find: If option is enabled and thumbnail displayed while taskbars are not hidden, explorer will crash as soon as taskbars are hidden.

Not a huge deal for me as I use right click to drag groups 99% of the time; but I finally found the magic combination and thought I'd submit a bug report for you.  Low priority for me.  Willing to provide more info/testing if desired.

Answer

Should be fixed in v5.10.1.

Ultrawide monitor QOL improvement: Make a taskbar item try and follow the window position

Daniela Rodríguez Careri 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 1

On ultrawide monitors, it would be useful if the taksbar item for a window tries to displace with the horizontal matching window position. So for example if the only app open is notepad, and its window is open on the left side of the screen, the icon would be positioned towards that side, but if the user moves the notepad to the far right side of the monitor, the item would displace horizontally along with the window towards that side too. The result would be icons would be _near_ their windows.

Thank you for this awesome software!

Bugreport: Icon badge disappears when updating settings

diplio 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 1

Hi there,

I encountered a non-critical bug with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker I wanted to report.

I have icon 'badges' turned on for programs such as Discord, to indicate when I have a new notification etc.  I noticed that whenever I apply new settings with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, the badge will disappear, though the icon remains the same as before.

If I just close Discord, or whatever program lost its icon's badge, and then re-open, the badge will re-appear. Still, it's a little annoying that every time I change any setting in 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, I have to close and re-open all programs that use icon badges.

7+tt terminates once in a while for unknown reason

jungle mole 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 3

I really don't know where to look here and how to narrow the field of search..

I can't find anything regarding terminations in Event Viewer. It just started to shut down several days ago.

I just may assume 7+tt terminates because of injection to explorer.exe it does (is it?). It terminates together with "process hacker" application which I extensively use too.

My work became really uncomfortable, I almost don't wanna use my PC now without those these two apps.

I've disabled antivirus and other protection features of windows, but nothing changed.

Apps just shut down every 10-20 minutes saying nothing..

May be you can recommend something to diagnose this behavior?

For now, I'll just try to clarify weather time periods it happens are arbitrary or concrete, I've ran out of ideas for now..

Always Combine Show Labels

Noah 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 3

This is surprisingly not possible as far as I can tell. When the taskbar fills up it combines buttons, but I would like to be able to always combine the buttons while also showing the labels.

Taskbar hidden notification area icons grid size

George 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 7

My hidden notification area icons currently display in a grid size of 4 x 4, but the grid size does appear to be random when icons are added / removed.

Is there a way (using Tasker or otherwise) to set the grid size default? eg 5 x 4?
