hotkey to go to a specific Toolbar
I have 3 toolbars I use all the time, like a cache of shortcuts. One of them is dynamic and has links to OneNote pages, I want a shortcut to open that, so I can key combo, then down, down and I'll know what the 2nd one down is...... would save me minutes a day and a lot of mouse clicking.
suddenly, "taskbar wasn't found (903)"
I'm not sure what happened to cause this to start happening abruptly, but right after I post this I will reboot my PC to see if it goes away. Something about 20 minutes ago caused my taskbar/explorer.exe to crash and restart, and after it did, 7 TT started having issues. First it had one error (I think it said it couldn't load the library/DLL?) and then I was prompted to update. When I updated, I started getting "taskbar wasn't found (903)", and have yet to find a resolution for it. Though, again, I haven't rebooted my PC yet so... let me turn it off and back on again before you take this report too seriously :-)
could just be a reboot skeleton in the closet... but I always like to let the dev know as soon as I see something weird, regardless of that possibility! (especially since, even if I resolve it myself, that's a resolution someone else can use if they run into the same issue)
v5.12.1 broke right click menu
With the Standard window menu option, right click gets you jump list, while shift+right click gives no menu (jump or normal).
Also, is it possible to make older versions available?
Win 10 v2004
Closing in favor of this issue which has more details and a solution:
Possible change in the z-order
The z-order/stay-on-top of the other windows (assigned by non-native apps of the Windows OS :P) get changed once a while when you hit the about or help buttons in the setting pannel :(
Adjust the width of labels
It would be nice if you could be able to adjust the width of labels, you can see in the image some of the apps take up space in the taskbar that is not even needed. Its empty. I know you can you the apps seperate with the icons but I would prefer being able to see a small label.
Dont open start menu on Win key press
I often accidently press win key and start menu opens. I want to replace Win shortcut to ctrl+win, but dont break shortcuts like win+tab or win+space
"Decombine on Hover" with multi-row taskbar creates unusable expansions
When the taskbar has been resized to allow more than one row of icons, it is possible for an 'uncombine-on-zoom' to and up spanning rows. Eg, if Explorer is the right-most icon on the top row, and I expand the group, some of the expansion may end up on the left side of the 2nd row.
There is no mouse path to get to the second row without collapsing the group, so these become un-selectable.
Sorry, but I don't speak German.
For the status regarding Windows 11, please refer to the recent blog posts:
Taskbar middle click -open console or custom command
Now there are some options for middle click on taskbar - Task Manager, Sound on/off, etc.
For me it would be useful to open console (aka cmd). Or even run custom command - it will be useful for fome people and their strange shortcuts.
[Win7]Beware of a Strange Mutation of the Thumbnail Preview
No preview would be shown and that of the active window can only have its label pop up, no matter how the default settings are changed. Possbile frozen on the hover action(s) and/or clicking action might also appears randomly.
The possible sequence 1/ to trigger the mutation:
- set the taskbar appearance to "Auto-hide" with the buttons "Never Combine"
- set the Combine grouped buttons
- set decombing on mouse hover only
- sleep/standby and wake the PC
Frozen right click action on the tray icon might also experienced. After 1/ happened, the following behaviours cannot be executed correctly:
Advanced option: mouse control (taskbaritem|lclick) vaule 7
AND
Defines the preview to show when hovering over a taskbar item:
List
such that only list can be triggered but no thumbnail preview was shown at all for combined items. No anymore thumbnail can be triggered if and only if not triggering the "This option doesn't have any effect when the "Combine when taskbar is full" option is chosen in the taskbar properties.".
Possible Preventive Measures
Restart the problematic program before sleep/standby.
Never set taskbar buttons to "Never combin" together with non-default combining/grouping option(s).
Use only default Windows 7 theme before and during 1/.
