Pinned programs display incorrectly sometimes.

I get this problem a lot. http://i.imgur.com/nHtUMp8.png I don't know a good way to describe it, so I took this picture. Basically, pinned-to-taskbar icons won't be used as a window's taskbar task. This is 64bit Win7.

Option to just hide the label in taskbar

Hi,

is it possible to hide the labels but not do anything else?

I'd use that option together with the Windows' taskbar option "Never group" as that would achieve my goal.

Right now, when I use "Always group hide labels" together with 7+TT's "Don't combine grouped elements" I'm unable to interact with one instance in a group of elements.

For example: I have two windows of Chrome open. I want to minimize the one in the foreground. I'm used to just click on the respective icon in the taskbar. With 7+TT, this just opens the thumbnails of this group.

Solution

Build 11082 is not supported at the moment, as it's not a final release.

Only 10240 and 10586 are supported at this time.

Is it possible to reduce width of taskbar?

Is it possible to reduce width of taskbar to make it something like OSX dock? So that instead of having taskbar occupying full width it remains in center of screen and expand with programs.

As far as I know, that's not possible.

inspector closes too fast

win 7 sp1 64 bit
using left taskbar
starting after update to v 4.4.6  (sorry, no longer know what previous version was)

With either left click on tray icon, or right click and select 'inspector', inspector window appears.
However, unless I move mouse very fast to the inspector window, it closes before I can get to it.
I probably have some windows parameter set so that menu delay is minimal.  I did not change that setting since my previous version of taskbar tweaker.

With the previous version, my impression is that the inspector window was visible continuously until I clicked e.g. on screen background or another window.

I have also set 'focus follows mouse' in windows accessibility to try to emulate typical unix behavior.

If instead of the above actions, I right click the tray icon and select "7+ taskbar tweaker", get the options window, then click on the button 'taskbar inspector", the inspector window comes up in such a way that the mouse cursor is already in the inspector window, so the problem is not an issue.  However, if the cursor leaves the inspector window, it closes.

I'm guessing this must be due to the focus follows mouse issue, and for those of us who use that, it would be better if you required a click somewhere to exit the inspector, not just a matter of mouse hover, or the implied focus for the "focus follows mouse" windows setting.

Icons loading in Taskbar Buttons somteimes is incorrect

I don't know what is the rule. but many times, especially when I deal with many tasks and when close/open/drag tasks quickly, Icons are loaded incorrectly.

Many times I get an Icon of the previous task. Exapmle: If I close Windows Media Player, and open IE -  IE app runnig OK, but  the Icon in Taskbar Button is of Windows Media Player.

Sometimes, the Icon of an app is not loaded so that I have no Icon in that Button.

Solution

This was discussed in the blog comments:

Quoting myself:

"In fact, I’ve encountered this issue, but it happens so rarely (happened to me once or twice, literally) that it doesn’t really bother me.

I can’t do much with it as I can’t reproduce it.
Also, I’m not sure it’s the tweaker’s fault. If it happens often for you, you can experiment and see whether it happens without the tweaker running, or with it running with all options off."

start button hover bug

I'm getting some very strange hover behaviour with the windows start button. When I'm in some programs (Google Chrome, Firefox) if I hover over the start button and then move my mouse off again, it remains highlighted. If I alt tab to a different program the issue stays until I Ctrl+Right Click on the task bar at which point it works as expected. As soon as I make Chrome (for example) my active window again, the same thing happens.

As I said it only happens with specific applications (So far the only ones I've found are chrome and firefox). Internet explorer doesn't have this effect so it isn't browser-wide. It might be to do with the fact that chrome and firefox both put tabs inside the top bar (alongside _ □ x).

It's a weird issue and hard to explain properly so I'll put a link to a video.

It seems to be an issue with the "disable topmost" option, as it only occurs when that is enabled.

Here's a video anyway:

Extend context-menu when right-click dragging to taskbar

I have Dropping on taskbar items set to 'Open with', as that it what I want to do 99% of the time. However, sometimes I want to 'Pin' and then I have to temporarily undo this setting, do the drop, then re-enable the setting.

There is a context menu provided when I right-click drag an item onto the taskbar, but with the above setting, the context menu only provides menus for 'Open with' and 'Cancel', and not 'Pin'. Would it be possible to provide all three menu items?

The exact use case for me is for right-click dragging a folder onto an Explorer taskbar icon and hoping to add it to the Explorer jump list.

Many thanks!
