Pinned programs display incorrectly sometimes.

I get this problem a lot. http://i.imgur.com/nHtUMp8.png I don't know a good way to describe it, so I took this picture. Basically, pinned-to-taskbar icons won't be used as a window's taskbar task. This is 64bit Win7.

Do you have the "Don't group pinned items" option checked?

Just to add to this,I have "don't group pinned items" unchecked. Checking this box actually causes all pinned items to function like the screenshot and unchecking the box AFTER checking it will actually fix the bug represented by the picture. In other words, it seems like an unchecked "don't group pinned items" box isn't always getting caught by Windows.

OK. Next thing, open Taskbar Inspector and check the "Group pinned items" for the problematic programs:
