suggestion: for multi-screen users, an option to change which monitor the clock is on, or have it on both screens

Anonymous 12 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 12 years ago 1
I know there are other apps that do this, but having just one program to do all taskbar tweaks I need would be nice.
Answer
Windows allows you to choose the monitor to show the clock on, by choosing which one is the main monitor.
As for displaying the clock on multiple monitors, there's an existing suggestion about it, please vote if you're interested:

More advanced hovering settings for taskbar items.

Anonymous 10 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 10 years ago 1
1. Separate behavior for combined / non-combined taskbar items (and add Aero Peek as an option)

One use case: Show Aero Peek for non-combined taskbar item (which has only one thumbnail) and show thumbnail preview window for combined taskbar items.

Isn't it silly that you have to hover the only thumbnail in the preview window to active Aero Peek? It would be nice to be able to directly trigger this action by hovering on the taskbar, imagine you're writing something and checking for documents on your laptop (especially on those 1366x768 ones) and place two windows side-by-side just make both your word processor and the browser hard to use.

2. Thumbnail preview / List auto switch

While I thought thumbnail preview for single window is silly, it really helps when it coms to combined items, for example: when there are too many tabs opened in a web browser (like IE 11), the thumbnail preview window could become pretty long and sometimes "glitches" - In this case, the "List" option is more acceptable. It would be nice if 7TT can auto determine which of the two modes to use based on the number of items combined (and the screen height / width based on a vertical or horizontal taskbar placing - or just make it a user-defined number in Advanced options.)

Feature Request: swap vertical & horizontal thumbnail previews

Anonymous 11 years ago 0
Don't if this is possible but I'd like to see an option whereby it is possible to swap the orientation of the thumbnail windows so a vertical taskbar shows a horizontal thumbnail window.

So for instance if in vertical taskbar mode and you hover over a group, the thumbnails window pops up, as if the taskbar was in horizontal mode, across the screen.

I'm gonna donate in any event as this tools has features iv'e been looking for, for years.  MIDDLE CLICK CLOSE YES!

Run at startup

Anonymous 12 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 12 years ago 18

On my startups, the taskbar volume control does not work until I open the Tweaker, go to settings, recheck the "Run at startup" box, and then click Done.

Any way to not have to do this each time I reboot?

Answer

That doesn't make sense, the "Run at startup" checkbox merely removes/sets a registry value. It shouldn't affect options like volume control.

Multiline Taskbar on the left

Anonymous 13 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 12 years ago 1

Multiline is not working when the taskbar is moved to the left side; the scrollbar appears and the labels of the Icons are visible and not even open it to half of the screen, it moves to multiline. Could you please mimic the same behaviour from XP that I can have more lines with icons only.

BTW: I don’t use grouping

Decombining options don't work as expected with the "Combine when taskbar is full" configuration

Anonymous 13 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 5 years ago 7

Platform is Win7 x64

First is the bug(as in unexpected/illogical behaviour). Its related to the "decombine on mouse hover" function. Explanation is gonna be a bit invoved.

Lets say have 2 groups that are just one shy of combining.

1. Mousein on GROUP1 and mouseOut. This will combine G1.

2. Mousein and mouseOut on G2. This will decombine G1.

If you repeat 2, it will combine G2.

That behaviour, is both annoying and not part of the feature(making it a bug).

One other thing also if possible - suspend changes to the taskbar(i.e. combining, decombining based on active/hover) when right-clicking, until the menu closes. Its confusing - if it changes on menuOpen and the windows shift, you can't be sure on which one exactly you clicked.

I could probably be coerced to make a video if you think it will help.

Answer

I was talking about Windows' taskbar properties, i.e. right click -> Properties.

From the buggy behavior, I guess it is "Combine when taskbar is full".

The thing is combining options weren't designed to work with this option.

With "Combine when taskbar is full" Windows decides when to combine/decombine groups, according to the available free space. It doesn't expect other apps to play with the combining.

So either switch to "Never combine", or disable the decombining options.
