Toggle the Lock State of the Taskbar Items [+ the Taskbar Itself]

MainTrane 7 years ago 0

This Idea is for a method to toggle locking the taskbar+buttons simultaneously.

  • a 'Mouse Button Control' and/or 'Keyboard Shortcut' method would be preferred.
  • or consider an option that binds 'Disable Items Dragging' to the 'Lock the Taskbar' context menu item.

Reasoning: I keep the system taskbar locked and in addition use 7TT to lock the program buttons in place. At times I need to unlock either/both of those, for a various set of reasons, but repetitively going into the advanced settings can become cumbersome.

Task bar does not pop-up when pointer bottom left . .

. . at least when 'Start8' is installed. This is a bit annoying. Bottom right works fine (and, a propos both left and right, I mean extreme left and right).

Option - Make WinKey Double-Click Work Everywhere

RetiredEngineer 8 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 7 years ago 1

I run Win7 64-Bit. With "Disable Topmost" set to "2", I've found that double-clicking the WinKey removes the Start Menu from the screen, but leaves the Toolbar alone, with the cursor roughly centered within its boundaries. I love working this way, for a host of personal ergonomic reasons. There are a couple of other Window and IE11 arrangements which will produce this same desired result.

Would it be possible for you to include a User Option to make this "pop the taskbar" work from wherever the mouse is on the screen? This would be a big help to my own productivity, and, I think, that of other users.

Kind Regards,
RetiredEngineer

Latest update fails every time - "Please check internet connection".

Also, thank you for some awesome software, and making it so simple and easy to use, even this reporting process :)

Answer

Closing since I weren't able to reproduce the issue, which was probably about the internet connection.

If you think that's an issue of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, please let me know and try to provide reproduction steps.

5.2.1.1 Beta - Remove Gap between items not working

svs95 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 10

In current beta (and previous version, which is why I downloaded the beta, in hopes this was fixed), the feature "Remove extra gap between items" does not work unless I open the 7+ console. Just opening from the System Tray it is enough to make it work.

I have it set to start with Windows, and I give it plenty of time. It just will not do anything until I manually open the app.

Win10 taskbar button sinking

Anonymous 8 years ago 0

In Win7 to Win8.1, a taskbar button icon will sink when pressed.

In Win10, this effect is removed.

I'd like to see this effect in Win10.

In v2.5.1 Taskbar Inspector setting combine for an app to never causes explorer.exe to crash

Gagome 8 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 5 years ago 16

I have set in Taskbar Inspector for certain apps combine to never.

In previous versions I could do this without any interruptions.

Now in the latest version 2.5.1 when I open Taskbar Inspector, select an entry, do a right click with the mouse and select combine -> never explorer.exe crashes and restarts.

This happens in Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Although the new setting is then in effect and the buttons are no longer combined the explorer.exe crash is annoying and I doubt this works correctly.

Can you please look into this and hopefully fix it?

Thanks.
