Move start Menu next to vertical taskbar (instead of overlapping on it)

Anonymous 10 years ago 0
So it is possible to drag an item (eg: a document) from start menu to a pinned application (eg: to open the document with the specific application) And it's better looking IMO.

Taskbar Inspector Reset button

Focuscar 11 years ago updated 11 years ago 2
Hi,
Taskbar inspector context menu shows: Show labels, group, group pinned item, and combine.

It would be great to add a 'Reset' item there, which would clear/reset all checked choices.

7+ Taskbar Tweaker isn't compatible with StartAllBack 3.8

Answer

From version 3.8, StartAllBack uses its own taskbar, so 7+ Taskbar Tweaker doesn't work with it.

Currently, you can either stop using StartAllBack, stop using 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, or stick to an older version of StartAllBack before 3.8.

Explorer crashes when the Task View button is clicked

Anonymous 4 months ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 4 months ago 3

(sorry, I accidentally posted this under "Ideas" and couldn't delete it. Please delete the other post)

This only started happening recently, so I assume it's caused by a Windows Update. And I managed to pinpoint this to a specific option in 7+ Task Tweaker.

Basically, when the Task View button is clicked, Explorer crashes if the "Display seconds on the tray clock" option is enabled. If I disable that option, the Task View behaves normally.

Windows 10 version 22H2

Fixed in version 5.15.2.

Remember Grouping of items

Anonymous 12 months ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 12 months ago 1

This was requested in https://tweaker.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/99-group-id-memory but it was 11 years ago so I thought I would try again.

After a cleanup today I am left with only 27 Google Chrome windows and I use Taskbar Inspector to change the Application ID of some of them to new random Groups.  In my Chrome settings I have the "Continue where you left off" option set so when Chrome is restarted all my Chrome windows and tabs are restored.  But...I have to manually select and Group relevant child items every time.

I realise new Application IDs would be assigned on a restart but I was hoping there would be a way to remember the items that were regrouped and assign them a new random group ID on restart.

Chrome is just my specific case but I figure it would be useful for others who use Grouping as well.

Feature request: Scroll down to minimize combined items

Anonymous 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 1

I love the option that enables minimizing/restoring windows using the mouse wheel; it's one of the main reasons I started using this utility. It would be great if that option also enables minimizing combined items by using the mouse wheel to scroll down. For consistency, perhaps scrolling up on combined items would work similar to the "Open last window if inactive,..." option.

Thanks a lot for the good work!

Clicking on any program on a taskbar will restart explorer.exe

Anonymous 3 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 3 years ago 5

Video
Behavior: left clicking on a program restarts explorer.exe and then applies 7+TT settings (like hiding windows icon).
Settings:
And it was also set to start on startup. But when I close and reopen 7+ it still makes this behavior. Noticed after the weather info suddenly appeared on my taskbar (possibly from the update).

Suggestions about update settings

Hank Hulet 4 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 4 years ago 3

In the "Settings" mini dialog:

Image 452

  • The automatic update feature has been implemented in version 4.5.10 (April 7, 2015). That is 6 years ago, thus maybe it's time to remove the "(experimental)" text?
  • Indent this "Update automatically" checkbox to the right, and it make togglable only if "Check for updates" is checked.
    • In other words: If "Check for updates" is unchecked, disable the "Update automatically" checkbox (i.e. make it greyed out and untogglable).
    • That would require to make this dialog a bit wider, which I don't think should be a problem.

Thanks for the great feedback, done in v5.11.2.

allow reducing vertical padding between notification tray icons (e.g. for when taskbar is vertical)

    Anonymous 4 years ago 0

Been using the beta/latest versions of this forever, (thank you again), with vertical taskbar and it was perfect, recently migrated to a laptop with a touchscreen (w10 like before), and now the notification area icons have large vertical spacing between them taking up too much space and that cant be reduced in anyway even when not in tablet mode or disabling touchscreen .. the option in the tweaker to reduce tray icon padding works horizontally but not vertically as would be necessary for vertical taskbar steup .. would it be possible to add this please?

    Can't inject after update win10 1909 to 18363.1198

Anonymous 4 years ago updated 4 years ago 7

After windows 10 updated to version 18363.1198 taskbar injector of 7+ stopped working due to failure of injection module. When pressing "Taskbar injector" button in GUI it says "Not injected into explorer".
