Like Volumouse does. This is the single feature that volumouse has better in this department.

Automatic updates failed when UAC is enabled

Autoupdater doesn't ask me for admin privileges. You can use this method to do this:

::ShellExecute(0, // owner window
               L"runas",
               L"C:\\Windows\\Notepad.exe",
               0, // params
               0, // directory
               SW_SHOWNORMAL);

Done in v4.1.7.

The tweaker detects whether the setup folder requires admin rights, and runs the update elevated in such case.

Note that installing to a folder which requires admin rights isn't fully supported. In order to install 7TT in such a folder, you must manually run the setup elevated. In order to uninstall it, you must manually run the uninstaller elevated, too. If you forget, it will just quietly half-uninstall.

It would be nice to fix that and make a proper setup which supports Program Files and such, but NSIS is too much PITA for that.

Show Taskbar when explorer has focus

Anonüümne 10 aastat tagasi 0
If you are using a full-screen program (like Remote Desktop) and switch to another program, such as clicking on a folder on a second monitor, the task bar remains hidden. It'd be great to be able to have the taskbar become visible when the program hiding it no longer has focus like pre-Vista Windows did.
Right now I use Classic Shell and have to hit the Windows key twice to get back to the bar, or minimize the original program.

Thanks.

Application icon is shown instead of the window icon when icons aren't grouped

Anonüümne 9 aastat tagasi uuendaja Michael (Ramen Software) 6 aastat tagasi 3

If you have only one window open of a certain application, it will show the application icon instead of the window icon on the taskbar. This is probably easiest to notice with Explorer. If you have only one Explorer window open, it'll show the default Explorer icon (a closed folder in a blue clip of sorts), instead of the window's icon (eg. a computer icon for This PC, downwards arrow for Downloads, picture frame for Pictures, etc.) on the taskbar. If you have two windows of the same application open*, then it'll show the window icon properly. For example, if I have both This PC and Downloads open, it'll show the computer and downwards arrow icon.

* It will only show the window icon properly on multiple windows if they are grouped. If they aren't, all icons on the taskbar will have the default application icon.

I believe it should show the window icon regardless of whether multiple windows are open or not. It should only show the application icon if the application is pinned to the taskbar and no windows of it are open.

I run Windows 10 Pro x64. Screenshots:

Multiple instances of a program

Anonüümne 11 aastat tagasi 0
Thanks For The Wonderful Tweaker!

I'm wondering if anyone else would appreceate, what I'm interested in.

I at times, run 2 instances of MS Excel, each having 3-5 workbooks/files open. I would love to have them group only per instance, instead of having 1 group of 9.

Middle click opens jump list

Anonüümne 12 aastat tagasi uuendaja Michael (Ramen Software) 12 aastat tagasi 0

I want to set Right click to standard windows menu, but I still want the jump list accessible. I never use middle click for "new program instance", "switch to", "minimize", or "close". So I would like to be able to use middle click for the jump list.

That's possible with a registry tweak.

Create a DWORD value named:

taskbaritem|mclick

with the value:

5

in this branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7 Taskbar Tweaker\Mouse Button Control

or use this .reg file:

middle-click-opens-jump-list.reg

For more information, see Advanced -> Mouse Button Control in the help file.

Open Options when double/middle click task bar

Double-click or middle-click empty space opens 7 + Taskbar configuration GUI (otherwise accessed by clicking the tray icon, which is not visible to users who've hidden it.)

Gouped taskbar items loose their internal orded while switching virtual desktops.

Anonüümne 10 aastat tagasi uuendaja Michael (Ramen Software) 10 aastat tagasi 3
Hi RaMMicHaeL,
I absolutely love your program! I really can’t productively work on any PC without it. So, thanks for your work

Unfortunately, with the last update (or the one before that), I have anissue:
– Gouped taskbar items mix their internal orded while I switch virtual desktops.

I use Dexpot v.1.6.14 b2439 as my virtual desktop manager, and it hasn’t been updated or modified in any way before the issue appeared. With older versions on 7TT it worked just fine, and due to absence of changes form Dexpot side, that could introduce the bug, I'm pretty sure, it's 7TT's issue.

What happens is as follows:

1. I open browser window #1, then #2, then #3, etc.
2. I switch to another virt.desktop, and do some work there for a while
3. I go back to the virt. desktop with my browser windows
Result: the order of the windows in a taskbar group is reversed (#3, #2, #1)

If i manually reaggange them, they usualy will get reversed again.
* The issue is not 100% reproducible on switch-switch scenario, usually some time delay is required. But it happens alsmost all the time, and makes s multitasking very confusing.
I hope you can give my some advise on a possible workaround, or maybe a fix in the next 7TT version.

Thanks!

tray_icons_padding option from Advanced settings doesn‘t seem to work

Tried setting different values, like 0, 1, 5, 10, but couldn‘t see any difference. I‘m using Windows 8.1 x64.

I can't reproduce it. Also, from the comments it seems like it works for other users.
Please provide more information, such as a screenshot, your tweaker's options, and the taskbar properties. Otherwise, I can't do much with your report.
