You're commenting on a topic which is not about a crash. Please create a new topic.

Also, please post a crash dump. You should be able to get it with the following steps:

  • Open regedit
  • Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting
  • Create a key named LocalDumps
  • Create a DWORD value named DumpType with value 2
  • Trigger the crash
  • Go to the %LocalAppData%\CrashDumps folder, you should see a dump file in there

You can use the "always_show_thumb_labels" advanced option to change that.

It's a known limitation (which I forgot about and had to spend some time to investigate and remember).

It never worked in Windows 10, and I addressed it here:

tl;dr:

  • In Windows 10, due to the way the combining functionality is implemented, it only works on a horizontal taskbar.
  • Workaround: Set the taskbar to “Always combine, hide labels” in system taskbar properties. Then set the “show_labels” advanced option of the tweaker to “2”. Finally, select “Don’t combine grouped buttons” if that’s the default configuration you prefer.
  • Download Windhawk from windhawk.net.
  • Once installed, go to "Mods" in the upper right menu.
  • Find and install the "Taskbar Volume Control" mod.

It's not a common request and not a priority. Maybe one day...

Yes, this option is unrelated to the list scrolling. It's about taskbar scrolling as in the following screenshot:

Indeed it looks like it's not a bug, it's just that more than one window is being opened. It's similar to opening one window of Notepad++, then a second window of Notepad++, and then closing the first window.

You can do the following:

  • Enable the "Don't group pinned items" option to always keep pinned items separated.
  • Disable the "Don't group" option, but it will affect all programs.
  • Enable grouping only for the notes windows, as following:

Great, so it's something with grouping. Still, it shouldn't happen even when the option is enabled, and looks like a bug.

Is it enough to pin the Notes program to reproduce the problem?

Try to figure out which option causes this behavior. From your screenshot, I'd suspect the "Don't group" option. If you switch it back to "Group by Application ID", does it fix the issue?

Also, please open Taskbar Inspector before running the app, make a screenshot, then open it after running the app and make another screenshot. Post the screenshots here.
