Permanently Ungroup Certain Programs

Anonym vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 11 Jahren 2

It would be nice to be able to specify certain programs to always be ungrouped, while letting the other programs stay grouped. An example would running Citrix apps. Windows groups all of the Citrix apps into a group even though the Citrix apps are streaming different server apps. So, it would be nice to be able to tell you program to always ungroup the Citrix Receiver ... for instance. Or maybe you would want chat applications to always be ungrouped for easy access to each chat window.

"Cycle between taskbar buttons" stops half-way in Windows 8.x

Anonym vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 9 Jahren 2
When I use the scroll wheel to cycle between taskbar buttons, the cycling stops when reaching some windows. To me they seem random (a Trillian chat window, which is not set to be always-on-top, but is semi-transparent when not active, Total Commander, running as admin, the 7+ help file viewer).

It might be related to some kind of taskbar focus issue.

It's not a bug, but a limitation of Windows.

By default, the foreground window receives notifications about mouse scroll events, regardless of the location of the mouse cursor.
To hijack these notifications, the tweaker uses a global mouse hook, which usually works.
However, Windows doesn't let the tweaker to hijack events of processes of a higher integrity, i.e. processes which run as administrator.

That's why the scrolling doesn't work when programs such as Task Manager are focused.
The same applies for hanged windows - the window is actually replaced with a "Ghost" window which belongs to the system.

I don't know why you experience similar issues with the twekaer's help viewer. It works fine for me.

Scroll down changes task list pages; scroll up does not

Anonym vor 9 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 9 Jahren 2
I recently updated to latest. Since then I've noticed that I can change taskbar task pages by scrolling down as before, but scrolling up does not flip back to the previous page. I have to manually click the page arrows.

Thinner Taskbar

Anonym vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 11 Jahren 0
Just switched from Windows 7 to Windows Server 2012 R2. But having a problem with taskbar.

On Windows 7, with new taskbar came up but it has a bug, You can’t make it thinner on side like it’s on the bottom. We find a workaround which requires restarting DWM.

On Windows 8 there are no DWM so we can’t make thin taskbar. So, please add an option to do this on 7+ Taskbar Tweaker.

Make "Open last windows if inactive" also available for the cycle window option

Anonym vor 9 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 9 Jahren 4

Could you also add an "Open last windows if inactive, otherwise cycle through windows" option? From a UI perspective, I'd not do this by adding another radio button, but by turning the existing "Open last windows if inactive, otherwise open thumbnail preview" radio button into a check box and name it "Open last windows first if inactive".

The regular "Cycle through windows" option does exactly that - it switches to the last window upon the first click, and then cycles through them. Am I misunderstanding your request?

Some suggestion of show destop 、 target element and alway on top

Anonym vor 9 Jahren 0
Hi RaMMicHaeL,

Thz for ur software, it's really very convenient.

Here hv some suggestion, hope u will consider.
Could u add "middle click start button = show destop "?

In addition to taskbaritem and emptyspace of Target element add more a useful element "wholetaskbar" and "startbutton". And we can share all of the value data between different target element

Right click software on the taskbar can click "Alway on top"

Best regards,
Leo.

Windows allows you switch between the two by holding the Shift key.
If you want more customization, it's possible with the advanced options. See help for more details.

Brighten active application taskbar button

Alexander Petrov vor 10 Jahren 0
Now in Windows 8 active application task bar button is just slightly different from other buttons. Could be great if there were an adjustment for changing somehow the active taskbar button appearance.
Couldn't find standard Windows 8 adjustments for that.
Thanks

Better labels for WinExplorer windows

Anonym vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert von Michael (Ramen Software) vor 11 Jahren 4

Another deficiency I never understood in Windows is the way too long text is clipped on taskbar buttons, and particularly for Windows Explorer windows. It just clips and adds ellipsis. Sometimes this makes it impossible to differentiate between multiple directories with the same root:

c:\some\long\path\1\ and c:\some\long\path\2\ will both appear as c:\some\lon...

A smarter behavior, that Microsoft did implement in some of their software but strangely not for the taskbar, is to try to keep the last word intact and add the ellipsis in the middle:

c:\som...\1\
c:\som...\2\

Having such an option in 7TT would be nice.

The thing is that the taskbar cannot know that the title is a path.
The fact that the taskbar shares the process with explorer can be (mis)used to special-case explorer folders and show the path the way you suggest, but it's questionable whether the special case is justified here.
