On start up It gives me an "Error" message that says "7+ Taskbar Tweaker: Could not load library", and it doesn't work at all.

Please report if you encounter the issue with v4.2 or newer of the tweaker.

Please provide more details:
Did a previous version work? Which version it was?
What OS do you have? Windows 7/8 32/64-bit.

same error massage.

win8 64bit

Works fine for me on Windows 8 64-bit.

I can't do much based on this error message.

If you want to get this solved, contact me via email and I'll give you a test build, so we can see what is the reason of the failure.

I've got another couple of reports about this issue.
Everybody who experienced it so far is using a 64-bit OS.

A commenter on YouTube said he managed to solve it by installing the tweaker to a different path.

I, meanwhile, couldn't reproduce it, and I have no idea what causes the issue.
If you can reproduce it on your PC, please contact me. Thanks!

I got the same error msg two times saying could not load library then i realized i have a windows update (W7 64 bit) i upgraded and restarted now it works fine. just a guess it may be all about the tasks or their order when we first installed this life saving software thanks a lot who made it

Tried it now - installed clean Windows 7 64-bit, checked for updates, then installed the tweaker - it worked fine.
This seems to be a very random bug.

hi again..it looks like a very tiny error but when i shut down the comp i get the same library load error. and when i just restart it works fine again. weird..

When you shut down your PC, you get a message box that says "Could not load library"?!
That's unexpected.

What version of the tweaker do you have?
Versions 4.2 and up show an error identifier next to the error message. I'd like to know what identifier does the message show.
no. when i first turn on my pc i get that error. but when i just restart it works fine. now i use v.4.2.2

(i restart it without shutting it down)

Tried to install 4.1 yesterday om my 64bit Win7. Message was in Dutch, but translated it said: This version is intended to use on Win 7/8 only!.

Installation failed....

Yes! That was the issue... Had to install with admin rights.... Tnak you! Nice program!

Please report if you encounter the issue with v4.2 or newer of the tweaker.
I'm having this issue currently with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker v4.4.6 on Windows 8.1 x64.
This install of Taskbar Tweaker was running fine for me for a few weeks, but the problem just started happening when the application starts up.  I'm not sure what I changed on my PC that caused the problem to start happening.
I just spotted http://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker-for-windows-8-1-update-1-early-alpha-version which talks about a breaking change that occurred in Windows 8.1 Update 1.  I bet that's the problem I'm having.  Eagerly awaiting the next update!
Had this occasionally in several versions, still have it with version 4.5.10 on Win7/64. It has never been a breaking problem, just logging off and back on always fixes it.
Newer versions include an error code along with the "Could not load library" message. What error number are you getting?
Sorry for the late reply - I'm the "occasionally in several versions" one from two months ago. Just had it again in version 5.0, with error code 207.
It feels like it got worse over those two months, but I also experienced a significant increase in the time before the desktop becomes available after logon, after I installed and uninstalled a few of trial software packages. That slowdown might be what causes the library error to occur more.

You can try one of the previous tweaker versions:

As for the 207 error, that error means that a helper window couldn't be created. I have no idea why this issue can occur. If you get the issue often, I can send you a debug build with shows extra information about the issue.
