As far as I know, that's not possible.

It's not a bug, but a limitation of Windows.

By default, the foreground window receives notifications about mouse scroll events, regardless of the location of the mouse cursor.
To hijack these notifications, the tweaker uses a global mouse hook, which usually works.
However, Windows doesn't let the tweaker to hijack events of processes of a higher integrity, i.e. processes which run as administrator.

That's why the scrolling doesn't work when programs such as Task Manager are focused.
The same applies for hanged windows - the window is actually replaced with a "Ghost" window which belongs to the system.

I don't know why you experience similar issues with the twekaer's help viewer. It works fine for me.

Hmm, very interesting.

The tweaker shows the changelog/version, which means it has internet access. But it cannot download the executable, which means it's blocked or something.

On the other hand, you say the installer can be downloaded by a browser, which means it's something specific to the installer (or all exe files?) AND the tweaker.

A mystery.

One more thing I want you to try is to access this link with a browser:

http://rammichael.com/downloads/7tt_setup.exe?nohitcount

This is the actual link the tweaker uses.

If it works with the browser, then the only thing left for me to do is making a debug version of the tweaker with some additional information about the reason of the failure.

> Also, I have a common issue with Win7, but NO solution that I have tried over the past 2 years have worked. The issue is the famous missing-icons. Sometimes they come, sometimes they don't.

Similar to this one?

Please see my reply there.

OK, I have a couple of questions.
  • Does the tweaker correctly show the new version number and the changelog?
  • Do you also have issues downloading the setup from the website?
  • Do you have any security software, and if so, have you tried disabling them while updating?

I've tried it with a Korean proxy, and the update worked properly for me.

I don't know what might cause your problem.

Are you, by chance, from one of the following countries?

China, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand or Taiwan.

The hosting had some issues with these in the past.

Should not be necessary now, when there's the Advanced Options Editor.
