Looks like you're looking for the virtual_desktop_order_fix advanced option. See the answer here for details:
Did you read the error message?
I need more information to diagnose the issue, such as the exact error message and, preferably, a way to reproduce the problem. As far as I understand, you can't provide that and the error stopped happening, therefore I'm closing the issue. If it happens again, please follow up with more information, thanks.
According to the short error message, you're using quite an old version. Please update 7+ Taskbar Tweaker and let me know if the error persists.
There's a registry option for that, if that's what you meant:
You're commenting on a topic which is not about a crash. Please create a new topic.
Also, please post a crash dump. You should be able to get it with the following steps:
- Open regedit
- Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting
- Create a key named
LocalDumps
- Create a DWORD value named
DumpType
with value2
- Trigger the crash
- Go to the
%LocalAppData%\CrashDumps
folder, you should see a dump file in there
You can use the "always_show_thumb_labels" advanced option to change that.
It's a known limitation (which I forgot about and had to spend some time to investigate and remember).
It never worked in Windows 10, and I addressed it here:

tl;dr:
- In Windows 10, due to the way the combining functionality is implemented, it only works on a horizontal taskbar.
- Workaround: Set the taskbar to “Always combine, hide labels” in system taskbar properties. Then set the “show_labels” advanced option of the tweaker to “2”. Finally, select “Don’t combine grouped buttons” if that’s the default configuration you prefer.
- Download Windhawk from windhawk.net.
- Once installed, go to "Mods" in the upper right menu.
- Find and install the "Taskbar Volume Control" mod.

Did you install the mod and then tried that? The mod only affects re-order events which happened after the mod was installed. That means that as long as the mod is active from the beginning, it should work, but if it was installed at some point while there are open windows, it won't remember the order for them.
A quick test to check that the mod works is to follow the steps in the short video here:
