There are other options, though, like decombine-on-hover and/or decombine-active.

I guess you (accidentally?) chose to never show labels for AIM's AppID.

Open Taskbar Inspector and right click on AIM's AppID.

Works fine for me on Windows 8 64-bit.

I can't do much based on this error message.
