BUG: Taskbar Reversion on Windows 10 v1903

cyrishihi 5 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 4 years ago 4

My taskbar reverts back to its original form, closes the program, and leaves a "ghost" in my hidden icons menu that goes away when you hover over it. At random. And stops doing it. At random. There is no rhyme or reason to when it starts to happen or stops. Please help?? Edit: Since it seems important here is my explorer.exe file version as well. 10.0.18362.207

Looks similar to the report of Rudolf Galan here:

Please take a look at our conversation in the comments and see if the tips there help solve your problem.

Well, looking at that report it seems that neither I or he knows how the heck it was fixed, my antivirus has it whitelisted and I'm pretty sure that my drivers are up to date. It went for a while without crashing/closing and somehow I reactivated the bug.

If you still experience the issue, you can try the linked guide, "Who the hell killed my process?", to find out why the tweaker is being terminated on your computer. Since I can't reproduce it on my computer, unfortunately I can't do much other than speculate.
