Option to Disable/Enable Start Button Popup Display on Hover

Paul 6 years ago updated by Michael (Ramen Software) 6 years ago 3

When you move the mouse over the windows Start Button after a short hover delay the Start Menu auto displays. Please add an option to Disable / Enable Start Button Menu Display on Hover - when disabled, you would need to click the Start Button to display the Start Menu. Reason for Disabling is frequency of unintentionally auto-displaying the Start Menu then needing to click elsewhere on the screen to close the menu. Please ensure works in Windows 7 along with other Windows versions.

As far as I know, you're wrong - hovering over the start button doesn't open the start menu, not after a short delay and not after a long one. I don't know why it happens on your computer. Either you click on the button accidentally, or you have some other customization software which adds this functionality, or perhaps you enabled some accessibility feature.

I'm not sure I can help you with this unless you can provide more details that explains this behavior on your computer.

I rechecked yet again and did find another utility that had the option buried in an illogical tab separate from specific Start Button settings, so you are correct and I've disabled that feature within the other utility. You can delete this entire thread to eliminate confusion and clutter on your site. Thanks!
