desktop icons move on startup

i have 2 1280x1024 screens side by side. I have the taskbar on the left of the left screen and set to the skinny width of one small icon (no_width_limit=1). On startup, the taskbar is 2 small icons wide, then my first column of icons on the left of the desktop get moved to the first column on the left of the right screen.  then the task bar shrinks to its minimum 1 small icon width, but of course my desktop icons have still been moved and i have to move them back. Is there an option that stops this or can it be fixed?

I'm not sure that I understand the issue from your description. It would be best if you could provide a video, or at least some screenshots.

Do the icons move to another monitor? That's usually means that the relevant windows move to that monitor as well. Does that happen?

In general, because the tweaker starts after the taskbar is already created, if the no_width_limit option is used, the tweaker shrinks the taskbar. Perhaps that has some side effect.

By the way, how come that you have open windows on startup? Usually, no applications are open upon Windows startup.

1: task bar loaded before tweaker starts

2: icons get moved to right screen

3: after i move the icons back to normal

and btw, i took the last 2 pictures before rebooting, but thats what it looks like, the top picture is right after reboot, explore auto-moves the icons cuz they're overlapped by the task bar, then tweaker loads and makes the taskbar skinny leaving the space you expect for another column of icons, then i move the icons back where they're supposed to be

Looks like something that is tricky to solve. I'm afraid that I'm not going to look at it in the near future.

As a workaround, you can use a tool which is able to save and restore the desktop icons layout. There are several such tools around the internet. There are even command line tools that I found, just Google for "save desktop icon layout, command line".
