Install 7TT to Program Files instead of user apppath? Thanks CryptoLocker.

Thanks to CryptoLocker threat, I now have the user appdata path locked down so nothing can execute from there.  7TT tries to install to that location and gives up. I use the portable install as a workaround, but would be nice if 7TT offered install of the EXE to the Program Files directory instead. This is just a "nice to have" suggestion, portable is working fine. Thank you for your consideration.

Have you tried to manually install to the Program Files folder by running the setup as administrator?

It should work. The only limitation I can think of is that you'll have to remember to launch the uninstaller as administrator, too.

No program should install to a user writable destination! This is a security risk and should be avoided at all costs!
I imagine you install to that location as default to make an auto-upgrade possible, but I believe that is really not worth it.

Why is it a security risk? 7+ Taskbar Tweaker isn't running as administrator, so whoever can modify the tweaker's executable can do what the tweaker does anyway.

Why not have installer and uninstaller request elevation if necessary? Or, at the very least, when installing with admin rights set compatibility flag for (as one can do it manually via options) uninstaller to "Run as admin"?

Because I didn't bother. Most users use the default path which doesn't require elevation.

By the way, if you uninstall from the control panel (or the new Apps and Features), the uninstaller is launched as administrator by Windows.
