Windows 11 Questions

Hello,

I was looking at the list of deprecations/feature removals in windows 11.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-specifications#primaryR4

Seems Like MS is going to prevent users from changing the alignment of the task bar, and also stop apps from customizing the taskbar. I hope that does not kill this project on windows 11 and newer going forward. Have you had a chance at what is out their for 11 to know how strict this lockdown of customization will be?

Thanks,

Keith

Hello,

I haven't looked at Windows 11 yet. I plan to look at it eventually, once it's more mature. The "stop apps from customizing the taskbar" item shouldn't be relevant for 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, since it's not using means that are provided by Windows for customization.

Ah okay, the task bar is quite different. So I was not sure what they exactly meant by customization. Hopefully you would be able to change alignment of the taskbar to like the side of screen since that seems to be something windows 11 has now disabled.

Windows 11 is now available in the Insider program. Do you have any plans to do any testing with it atm?

I do plan to look at it when I have some spare time. I can't tell when exactly.

The current Beta (5.11.2.1) unfortunately fails with "Could not load library (5)".

Would love to see an option to disable taskbar grouping in Windows 11 (This is a huge dealbreaker for me personally).

Yea, I hate grouped tasks, and not being able to reorder things nicely when playing around with windows 11.
