Cycling doesn't work

ladeessedeleau hace 4 años actualizado hace 4 años 9

Hello,

I'm sorry to bother you. I used to work on Windows 7 until then and cycling between my taskbar items using mouse scroll worked perfectly.

I updated to Windows 10 yesterday and reinstalled taskbar tweaker and noticed that scrolling through the taskbar works pretty randomly :(

It always works if the taskbar is already selected (as the first plan application) but doesn't work if the focus is on another window, when I hoover the taskbar and scroll, the focus remains on the app window and the other items in the taskbar start flashing in orange..

Is there a way to fix it ?

Just for the record, I use Taskbar Tweaker to manage my Dofus windows, change the order by just drop&drag them through the taskbar, AND switch from one to another just by hoovering the taskbar and scrolling with my mouse without any extra click,. I'll be so sad if it cannot work the same way on Windows 10 :(

Thanks for any further help !

[PS] Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

This sounds related to the limitation I pointed out here:

Is it the same scenario? Are the windows that you're trying to scroll owned by a process that's running as administrator?

Hello!

I don't thin I run my game in admin mode, but who knows... there's nothing about it in the shortcut, how can I see if the app runs as admin or not ?

Thank you! It indeed runs as administrator... I cannot change this setting, right ? Automatically or even after the app is already launched ?

My game launcher automatically launches the game as administator when I click "Play" so I guess I'm screwed... :(

Generally, if the game authors configured it to run as administrator, then no. That is, unless you modify the exe file manifest - you can follow this guide:

https://reverseengineering.stackexchange.com/a/19899

That might not work, though, if running as administrator is forced by other means, such as with code and not the manifest.

Ok well... Thank you very much for your time!

Is there another soft that allows to switch between several windows by just scrolling over the taskbar ? I don't have much hope, but eh, a girl can dream!

No, sorry. Perhaps you'll have better luck with defining keyboard shortcuts for cycling between taskbar items, if that fits your workflow. You can do that with the tweaker by using the advanced options. Refer to the help file for more details.

It solved my problem, thanks a lot ! 😍

Great I'll look into it, thank you :)
