Narrow taskbar (no_width_limit) not remembering width on restart

NinoZachetti 10 years ago updated 10 years ago 6
Is there a way for 7TT to remember the narrow taskbar width upon restart? Currently it doesn't on my install, but would be an great improvement if it did.

Thanks for the great utility!

The tweaker should remember the width upon restart. What OS are you using?
Also, please check whether the following registry value is being created:
last_taskbar_width (DWORD) in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7 Taskbar Tweaker

Looks like I spoke too soon. Now it no longer remembers the position at all after restart using Windows 8.1. I have the registry entry set up, but I'm guessing it has to do with initially installing it portably initially before selecting 'Run at Startup' in the settings.

I probably could re-install it non-portably, but thought I'd update you on my experience with the issue.
If you're using the portable version, then the last_taskbar_width value should reside in the .ini file, not in the registry. How come that you're seeing it in the registry? Did you have the non-portable version installed before?
I added it manually, seeing as it was having trouble remembering the width on startup. I've since stopped using the portable version since the latest Windows 8.1 update which broke it.

Now experiencing a different problem where the beta version won't run at all without admin privileges (so it can't auto run on startup), but I think I'll submit another post about it.
Thanks for the reply, I think it might have been a combination of originally running it in portable mode and having it not being immediately open on startup (before it had time to switch, so I manually adjusted it).

Seems to be running fine now, feel free to close :)
