The latest beta v4.5.4.2 fixes this.

Try ExtendedUIHoverTime in that same location, create a DWORD value by that name at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse

Enter the same value you would have used for MouseHoverTime.

This is intended to define the delay for thumbnail previews, but it may inadvertently affect how quickly the tooltips appear.

This option is working just fine on Windows 7 x64 (v4.3.1)

You do realize that 'label' refers to the icon and text directly above the thumbnail (not a tooltip)

Plus, it only kicks in when a taskbar button is showing a label, because that's when the thumbnail won't show a label by default. in other words, the difference is, only when you see a title on the taskbar button.

As far as tooltips go, 7TT will show them quicker if you choose 'tooltip' instead of 'thumbnail preview' in the main dialog.  (That's the only way it currently effects tooltips, but maybe rammichael can make that global)

+1, I support this.

It would be great if there was a tweak to disable drag&drop pinning on the taskbar.

Also, a tweak for locking the current pinned items in their position would be

The option is in the registry settings, just like the developer said.

And it only applies to Windows 8.1

Read the help file, if you don't know how to access the registry configurations.

This feature is certainly possible; as it is a component of Actual Window Manager (remove taskbar entry). It's also available in its cheaper/trimmed-down descendant Actual Window Guard.

BTW rammichael, thanks for this

For a permanent grouping, you might want to try using win7appid:

http://code.google.com/p/win7appid/

It should prove useful for apps that generate a random appid on launch.

a couple more...

TaskbarItems

  1. Decombine // manual trigger for grouped items
  2. Kill Process // for those troublesome applications

also, I think the first three options (show, minimize, close) should apply to an entire combined group. As in show all, minimize all, close all.

EmptySpace

  1. Start Menu // for users without a start button
